Catching Up!

I know it has been quite a while since the last post; however, I think I have a pretty good excuse! In late October, we found out that we are expecting Baby Pearson #2! He/she is due July 7th, which we are hoping will be THE busiest week of peach season (: Needless to say, we were a little suprised at the news, but very excited! I am 10 weeks now and reveling in the wonders of the first trimester...morning sickness, breakouts, exhaustion..just to name a few. Adeline broke the news to everyone by wearing a t-shirt that read "I'm going to be a big sister." It was amazing how long it took everyone to register what her shirt said. Adeline does not understand any of this yet; however, she does know that her primary playmate has suddenly become pretty pathetic! Fortunately, the holidays have kept us pretty busy and we have had both our families around to help entertain her. To recap the last month...

In early November, my mom, sisters, and I took a girls' trip to Atlanta to do some Christmas shopping. Of course, the girls weekend would not have been complete without Adeline (what are we going to do if the next one is a boy?) Here are some shots of Adeline doing what girls (atleast Defnall girls) do best...eating dessert, lounging in her pjs in her heavenly bed, and taking a much needed bubble bath (shopping can really wear a girl out).

Then came Thanksgiving...The Pearson family Thanksgiving consisted of about 60 people out at the cabin-eating, going on hayrides, shooting skeet, riding in the boat etc. I think Adeline had as much fun as anybody! Here are a few of my pics, but for some really good pics see The Kelleys blog (Lanier- I definitely need copies of those pictures!)

We went down to Thomasville for Thanksgiving weekend for some much needed (atleast for me) TLC. Adeline and I spent the next week in Thomasville and Sparky came to the rescue! It was so nice to sleep in, have someone else change Adeline's diapers (morning sickness and diapers are not a good combination), fix our meals, and do our laundry! Thank you so much Mom! While we were in Thomasville, we took Adeline to the Christmas parade. I don't think she quite knew what to make of it, but she seemed to enjoy it. Santa Claus has been a no-go this year. When I took her to get her picture made with him, she took one look at him and said NOOOO (while shaking her head adamantly back and forth)...maybe next year. Here are a few shots of us at the parade...

Halloween

Halloween is so much fun when you have children! It gives everyone an excuse to dress up and eat lots of candy. I think Adeline really enjoyed all the Halloween festivities also. We decided she should be a lamb since the only animal sound she knows is Baaa! She was a good sport and wore the whole ensemble two days in a row.

Too cute!

Two fur balls!

An unsuccessful attempt to get a group shot of our playgroup

Sporting Daddy's wig

Yes, we ALL dressed up!

Happy Birthday Jimbo!

Adeline's only cousin is turning 2 tomorrow! We are so sorry that we can't be in Charleston to wish Jimbo a happy birthday in person. This is the best we can do...

First Fair

Adeline went to the fair for the first time yesterday, and not just any fair...the Georgia National Fair! For those of us in the middle Georgia area, the fair is a pretty big deal. Ansley and Ben came up for the weekend and we decided to go to the fair on Saturday afternoon-bad idea! It seems when you crowd thousands of people, hundreds of grills, and too much livestock on a paved area in middle Georgia, it doesn't matter what season it is-it is going to be HOT! However, the heat did not seem to matter to Adeline, because she LOVED every minute of it! She ate her first corn dog, drank an ICEE, decided she did not like cotton candy, and helped us eat a delicious apple dumpling ...what's not to love? Ben also won her a stuffed frog, which she now insists on keeping with her at all times. She loved watching us on the rides and would scream (in excitement) when the people on the rides were screaming. Here are some pictures from Adeline's fair trip...

Beach Trip

We want to thank Mamie and Papa for a wonderful week in Hilton Head. All of us had so much fun, and Adeline loved playing with her grandparents, aunts and cousin Jimbo! The big news from the week is that Adeline started walking! Fortunately, Papa had his digital camera on the beach and was able to record the big moment! I'll try to post the video soon. Here are some pics from the week...

Pigtails

Adeline and I were in Wal-Mart yesterday and I saw some very small "ouchless" rubberbands. Since Adeline's hair is getting a little out-of-control, I thought I might give pigtails a try. I wish all of you could have seen Lawton's face when I took her outside with her new hairdo! Needless to say, he thought it was precious. Adeline seems to look a little more like a girl and a little less like a baby every day. As you can see from the pictures, Adeline got into the tomato bushes while we were outside-she loves the cherry tomatoes!

The Birthday Girl

Wow! It is hard to believe that Adeline is 1! The year has gone so quickly; however, it is hard to remember life without our sweet Adeline. She is truly a gift from God, and our life is so much sweeter with her in it. She amazes us everyday with how quickly she grows, learns and changes. She has started taking steps and seems to add a new word to her vocabulary every week. Adeline takes after her daddy and is very affectionate. She loves people and has no problem going to total strangers. She makes friends everywhere she goes!

We celebrated Adeline's birthday this past weekend with our families. She had a ball and loved being the center of attention! (Sometimes Lawton and I wonder how we ended up with a daughter that does not seem to have a shy bone in her body, loves to be in the spotlight, and has really petite feet!) Adeline got a rocking horse, lots of precious fall clothes, her own chair (with her name on it), a slide, a skirt that sings the Hokey Pokey and several other toys. Here are some pics from the birthday girl's big day...

Precious Pearson Peach

Adeline and I have certainly eaten our share of peaches this summer! Now, when Adeline sees a peach tree (not a peach...a peach tree) she holds out her hand and says "uhh." If you wait too long to pick a peach for her, she starts crying. There must be something in the genes! Here are some pictures of our precious Pearson peach and the peaches she loves...

A Fabulous 4th!

Adeline and I (Lawton had to stay home-I guess somebody has to work!) spent the 4th in St. Simons. You know it's a great vacation when...

You're eating an ice cream sundae with 2 spoons!

You look THAT good in a bathingsuit!

Sparky's there!

Nobody cares how much you eat or drink!

It's just girls!

You're the best looking thing in the baby pool!

Hope all of you had a fabulous 4th also!
